Hi! I'm Chuck Kleffman. I'm a Missionary Associate on assignment in Belize Central America. What is a Missionary Associate?
The Missionary Associate program of Assemblies of God Division Foreign Missions is designed to link people gifted in various vocations with ministries overseas that urgently need their help. My principal job here in Belize is to serve as the Director of the Assemblies of God National Camp. But I also serve by assisting my senior missionary in sharing the workload here on the field. For instance, sometimes I preach. I love to preach! Sometimes I gather information. Sometimes I design marketing posters to place in churches to announce big events. I also help with construction and ministry teams arriving from the states. Another words, my job is to assist my senior missionary and to facilitate the national church in every way possible.
My heart though is in reaching the lost, especially the children. I want to lead as many children to Jesus as possible. We must reach them now. Statistically speaking it's very difficult to reach them after they become adults. I also want to preach good news to the poor. I want to reach those that are hungry, those that hurt, and those that mourn. I want to reach those living in abject poverty and living hopelessly in villages off the beaten trail. I want to proclaim freedom for the prisoners and I want to announce to them that they'll not be left behind. I want to bring hope to the hopeless. I want to bring those living in darkness into the light. I want to do my part in making heaven larger and hell smaller.
Friends the coming of God to earth in the person of Jesus Christ remains the greatest story ever told and this message of Hope, I have given my life to proclaim. The world desperately needs to know that God sent His Son to bring "great joy to all people." He alone gives the peace, joy and security people seek, and He has chosen us to give them this message. What an exciting, awesome responsibility!
Then I heard the voice of the Lord saying, "Whom shall I send? And who will go for us?" And I said, "Here am I send me!" And He said, "Go, and tell this people..." Friends, the evangelistic road leads right through the heart of Urban-America and onto the ends of the earth. The journey begins with me! "Here am I. Send me!"
